About University of Madras (UNOM)

The University of Madras is a public state university located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. It is one of the three oldest universities in India. The university was founded on 5 September 1857 by an act of the Legislative Council of India. In 1912 endowments were made to the university to establish departments of Indian History, Archaeology, Comparative Philology and Indian Economics. In that year the university had 17 departments, 30 teachers, and 69 research scholars. It has six campuses in the city: Chepauk, Marina, Guindy, Taramani, Maduravoyal, and Chetpet. This University is also known as Madras University and in short, it is called as UNOM. It is affiliated with NAAC, UGC, and AIU. This University has been growing from strength to strength while widening its teaching and research activities. Presently Prof. R. Thandavan is the vice chancellor of this premier university. The university takes to care for all the infrastructural advancements on regular basis. That’s why today it is fully equipped with the best in class technology. This helps students as well as staff to be familiar with the upcoming advancements in the world. The University teaches both Under Graduate and Post Graduate Education through the Affiliated Institutions which are spread over the districts of Chennai, Thrivallur, and Kancheepuram. UNOM Exam Admit Card / Hall Ticket Download

Admit Cards University of Madras will be published 1 month before the exams. Admit cars contain Students related details like name, address, center, time duration etc. Applied Students can download the admit cards from the official portal on online mode. Students who appear exams have to carry admit cards and id proof with them. It fails to carry, Students will not give permission to attain exams.

To Download admit cards type correct detail in web page details such as registration name, the birth of dates etc. after downloading admit cards from website take print copies of it and stick your passport size photos in specified place. Keep copies of hall tickets in case if hall ticket gets lost, miss placed etc Students can use it in place of the original.

Madras University Ph.D. and M.Phil Admission 2019

The Degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) is awarded to a Student who has submitted a thesis on the basis of original and independent research in any particular discipline or involving more than one discipline (inter-disciplinary) that makes a contribution to the advancement of knowledge and is approved by Board of Examiners. The degree can be obtained in Full Time, Part Time (Internal), and Part-Time (External) courses.

The University organizes entrance examination for selection of Students in the research programs. Students who have cleared UGC/CSIR NET are exempted from appearing in the entrance examination.

Madras University Postgraduate Admission 2019

Admission to these campuses is based on the rank and marks obtained by the aspirant in the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) 2019. The TANCET exam is organized annually by Anna University, Chennai. The application forms can be obtained from any of the campuses, or online from the University's website.

Madras University MBA and MCA Admission 2019

Admission to M.B.A. & M.C.A. courses is based on the marks scored by the Student in the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) Examination. For NRIs and Foreign Nationals, the admission will be based on the marks obtained in their respective Degree courses.

Online Exam Form of University of Madras

Candidates can fill the Pondicherry University application form 2019 through online procedure only. Students can apply for more than one course. Students have to apply separately for each course. It is advised to the Students to ensure their eligibility before applying for the exam. The application has been issued from 21st March to 7th May 2019.
