About S.R.M Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST)

SRM stands for Sri Ramaswamy Memorial . SRM University is a co-educational private university in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. The university has three campuses in Tamil Nadu at Kattankulatur, Kancheepuram district, Ramapuram,Trichy and one in Modinagar, near Delhi . Previously functioning under Anna University, as SRM Engineering College, the institute gained deemed status in 2003-04, and was renamed SRMIST (SRM Institute of Science and Technology) and then eventually called SRM University. The foundation of the university was done in 1968, when Mr. T.R. Pachamuthu started the Florence Nightingale Primary School, the cornerstone of the SRM group of educational institutions. He also founded the Valliammai Society in honour of his mother Mrs. R. Valliammai, the same year. In 1985, the SRM Engineering College was established in Kattankulathur, and soon grew into numerous SRM centers of learning. In 2002, the SRM College of Dentistry was awarded the status of deemed university by the Ministry of Human Resources and Development, India. In the same year, the engineering, medical and para-medical colleges of the group were brought under the ambit of SRM Deemed University. In 2003-04 other colleges follow suit. In 2006, the deemed university then attained the status of a full-fledged university, under section 3 of the UGC Act 1956. An upgraded syllabus and international teaching methods, designed by SRM's International Advisory Board (IAB), launched SRM University way ahead of the rest. SRM University's 242 acre campus at Kattankulathur, near Chennai is well landscaped with ample greenery - and is connected by road and rail. The 43 lakh sq ft built up area comprises of state-of-the art infrastructure and facilities Constituent institutes of the main campus.

SRM University Exam Admit Card / Hall Ticket Download

SRM Institute of Science and Technology Admission 2019

The SRM Institute of Science and Technology generally organizes its entrance exam known as SRMJEE (SRM Joint Entrance Exam) for admission. SRM University Admission procedure for its entrance exam (SRMJEE) starts from the month of March to April every year. The University organizes entrance test for Admission To B.Tech.,and MBA Courses. Admission to SRM Undergraduate medical courses is on the basis of marks scored in NEET Exam. The admission to other Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses is usually merit-based. The application procedure for SRM University is both online and offline.

Admission to MBBS & BDS is made on the basis of Aspirant’s performance in NEET (UG) while for other Undergraduate medical courses SRMJEEH (UG) is organized by the SRM University. Aspirants have to appear in SRMJEEE (PG) to get admission in M.Tech courses.

SRM University also conducts SRMJEEH (PG) to provide admission in various Postgraduate Medical courses. Admission to MD, MDS, MS, DM & M.Ch courses is offered on the basis of score of NEET (PG). Aspirants can secure direct admission to certain courses such as MCA.

SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRM University) application form can be filled online by visiting the official website of the SRM University. After the application procedure is over, Aspirants have to appear for the entrance test. Final admission is granted on the basis of merit in the entrance test & ranking obtained in the qualifying examination followed by the counseling procedure.
