About Meenakshi Academy of Higher Education and Research (MAHER)

Meenakshi Academy of Higher Education and Research (Meenakshi University) was formed on 14th June 2004 on behalf of Meenakshi Ammal Trust. The Meenakshi Ammal Trust was founded in the year 1983 as a public charitable and Educational Trust by Mrs. D. Meenakshi Ammal, a noted philanthropist. The trust is involved in various educational activities like giving awards, scholarships, grants and aids to Indian citizens for study and research in the fields of education, Indian culture and fine arts etc. The Govt. of India in Ministry of Human Resource Development and Department of Secondary and Higher Education, New Delhi on the advise of the University Grants Commission, conferred Deemed to be University status to "Meenakshi Academy of Higher Education and Research (MAHER)" as Per Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956 Vide Govt. Notification No.f.9-5/2002-U.3, dated.31.03.2004. At the time of conferment of Deemed University status, BDS and MDS Courses were conducted at Meenakshi Ammal Dental College, Maduravoyal, Chennai - 600095. Meenakshi Medical College and Research Institute, Enathur, Kanchipuram and Meenakshi College of Nursing, Mangadu, Chennai were included subsequently in Govt. of India's letter No.F.9-11/2004-U.3, dated 26.07.2004, and F.9-22/2004-U.3, dated 02.06.2005, under the ambit of MAHER-Deemed University). Total Extent of the area of the University is 39.08 acres. Teaching at University happens at three level - Instruction, Research and Outreach. Apart from the regular curriculum, there are seminars, regular tours for hands-on learning and interactive sessions and guest lectures to nurture the intellectual skills in perception, analysis and communication. Through this three-pronged learning approaches, University helps the students to develop extraordinary skills in analytical and critical thinking and learning.

MAHER MBBS Admission 2019

Meenakshi University provides Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) programme for their respective students. Duration of MBBS is 5 years.

Applicants seeking admission for this course need to appear in the NEET entrance examination organized by CBSE. For applying to the MBBS course, the student must have done his/her plus two from a recognized institute with the science stream and must have an aggregate of at least 50% in the Higher Secondary Examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English have taken together.

students willing for the above course must have to complete 17 years of age.

MAHER BDS and MDS Admission 2019

For the students interested in Dentistry, the university offers two relevant programmes to their respective students. MAHER provides Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) programmes at Undergraduate and Postgraduate level.

The university offers only one specialization, which is Dental Surgery in BDS while MDS holds nine specializations. Duration period of BDS is five years and MDS programme has a duration period of three years.

students willing to take admission in BDS need to appear in the NEET entrance examination organized by CBSE. For MDS, the willing students need to appear in an entrance test named CET exam which is administered by Meenakshi university (MAHER).

MAHER Undergraduate Admission 2019

The university provides a bunch of Undergraduate (UG) programmes like Bachelor of Banking Management (BBM), Bachelor of Arts (B.A), Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com), Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) and Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA).

The university offers BBM, BBA, and BCA with one specialization each. The B.A students can choose from eight different specializations. students of B.Com can have specializations in three different subjects. The university provides B.Sc programme with 10 different specializations. All of the Undergraduate courses take 3 years to be completed.

Selection of the student to the undergraduate (UG) courses will be done on the basis of their performance in the entrance examination, organized by the university.

MAHER Undergraduate Medical Admission 2019

Other than MBBS and BDS, the college offers a few more courses related to the field of medical science at UG level. It offers B.Sc. in Nursing, BPT in Physiotherapy and B.Sc. in Health Science with six different specializations.

students seeking admission in Undergraduate Medical programme need to appear in a Common Entrance Test (CET) exam organized by MAHER university. The selection will be made according to the score obtained by the students.

MAHER MD and MS Admission 2019

At the Master’s level, the university offers two postgraduate programmes - Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Master of Science (MS). The University provides 14 different specializations in various subjects in MD programme while the MS programme has 5 specializations in it. The duration of both of the MD and MS programme is 3 years.

The willing students for both of the programmes need to appear in NEET PG entrance examination organized by National Board of Examinations (NBE). Application for NEET PG can be made

For students looking to make a career in the field of technology, the University offers Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree with five different specializations - Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication and Information Technology etc.

For BE and B.Tech courses, the applicants have to go through an entrance test administered by the university. As per their obtained marks in the exam, the university will make the selection. Eligible students must have passed in 12th (10+2) level examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM).
