About Bharathiar University (BHARATHIAR-UNIVERSITY)

The Bharathiar University was established at Coimbatore by the Government of TamilNadu in February, 1982 under the provision of the Bharathiar University Act, 1981 (Act 1 of 1982). The Postgraduate Centre of the University of Madras, which was functioning in Coimbatore before 1982 formed the core of the Bharathiar University. In May, 1985 the University received the recognition from University Grants Commission (UGC) New Delhi for the purpose of grants. 

The University named after the great national poet Subramania Bharathi is enshrined with the motto “Educate to Elevate”. In the University, every effort is harnessed to realize his dream of making educational institutions as the temple of learning. It is the aim of the University to participate in the task of inculcating necessary Knowledge, Skills and Creative Attitudes and values among the youth of the country to contribute more effectively towards establishing an equitable social and economic and secular ideal of our nation.

Bharathiar University Postgraduate and Diploma Admission 2019

The University offers a number of Postgraduate programmes including MA, M.Sc, M.Com etc. in multiple disciplines along with several diploma programmes such as PG Diploma in Environmental Education, Cheminformatics etc. In addition to it, the university also offers B.P.Ed and M.P.Ed programme along with MBA and MCA (Regular and Lateral Entry). Selection of Students will be done on the basis of performance in an entrance test (60 marks) and in the qualifying examination (40 marks) upto V Semester / II year. The Entrance Test will be organized in the university campus only. 

Bharathiar University MBA and MCA Admission 2019

In addition to the various Postgraduate courses mentioned above, the university also offers MBA (Master of Business Administration) and MCA (Master of Computer Application) programmes to the Aspirants. The application procedure remains the same for MBA, MCA programmes as for the other Postgraduate courses. In order to be eligible for admission to MBA, MCA programmes, the Students should have appeared for TANCET Examination and possess valid TANCET scores.

Bharathiar University M.Phil and Ph.D. Admission 2019

The University offers M.Phil. and Ph.D. courses in almost all the university departments with more than 30 specializations being offered.  The general eligibility for admission to the research programs is a post-graduate degree in a related discipline. There are generally two sessions of applications accepted, in November and May, with the procedure being the same as the other courses offered by the university. The University organizes a Common Entrance Test for admission to the research programs, followed by a personal interview.

Online Exam Form of Bharathiar University

Interested Students can apply through online or download the application form available at the university website and submit it upon completion along with the required fee of Rs.300/- to the head of the concerned department. Application forms and prospectus can be obtained from the Registrar in person or by post, starting from April 17 on requisition with a cost of Rs.300/- (Rs.150/- in case of SC/ST Students) in the form of demand draft (DD) drawn in favour of the “Registrar, Bharathiar University” and payable at Coimbatore.

Students can also register online for admission to the university courses through the official university website. Students should possess the following pre-requisites while registering online:

• Valid E-mail ID.
• Soft Copy Passport size Photograph
• Demand Draft of RS. 300/- as application fee for OC / BC / MBC / DNT Students.
• Demand Draft of Rs. 150/- as application fee in case SC / ST  Students, on the production of attested photocopy of community certificate.
