Madurai Kamaraj University, established in 1966, has 18 Schools comprising 72 Departments. The Directorate of Distance Education of the University has a student strength of about 1.30 lakhs. The University has 109 affiliated Colleges (9 Autonomous) including other approved institutions and 7 evening colleges. There are centers which promote research potential of teachers. Extension activities are carried out through Department of Youth Welfare, NSS, SC/ST cell and Adult Education programmes. Madurai Kamaraj University, (originally known as Madurai University) was named after the historical city of Madurai, the ancient capital of the Pandyan rulers and the seat of three famous Tamil academies going back to the beginnings of the Christian and even perhaps an earlier Era, was inaugurated on 6th February 1966 at the heart of the city. Its nucleus was the Extension center of the University of Madras located at Madurai.

Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) Undergraduate Integrated Admission 2019

MKU offers full-time integrated BBA-MBA and B.Tech-M.Tech courses at UG level. 12th (10+2) with PCM is required for B.Tech+M.Tech while 12th (10+2) in any subject group is sufficient for BBA-MBA program. Admission is based on the marks in 12th (10+2).

Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) Postgraduate Admission 2019: MA, M.Sc, M.Com, M.Ed, M.P.Ed & M.Li.I.Sc

Madurai Kamaraj University offers MA, M.Sc, M.Ed, M.P.Ed, M.LI.I.Sc and M.Com courses in different specializations at Postgraduate level. Bachelor’s degree in the related discipline is the minimum eligibility criteria. For some courses, the university organizes Entrance tests while for other the admission is completely merit-based.

Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) MBA & MCA Admission 2019

MKU offers admission to MBA and MCA courses for the duration of two and three years respectively.  Graduation in any discipline is required for MBA program while BCA or any other Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics is mandatory for MCA program. Admission is based on the university entrance Test followed by GD and PI.

Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) M.Phil & Ph.D. Admission 2019

At Doctorate level, MKU offers M.Phil (Regular) & Ph.D. (Full-time/ Part-Time) courses in various specializations. Master’s degree in the relevant discipline is the desired eligibility criteria. Admission is offered on the basis of university-based written test and interview.

Students with Junior/Senior Research Fellowship sanctioned by National/State level research funding agencies are exempted from the M.Phil & Ph.D. Entrance Test. Students selected by a Committee constituted by the Research Department or Institution and appointed in Research Project are also exempted from the M.Phil & Ph.D. Entrance Test.

• Pay the application fee of INR 1000 for Ph.D. (INR 500 for SC/ST) and INR 750 for M.Phil (INR 375 for SC/ST) online via State Bank of India.
